I know many people who have this PS3 connectivity problem.
Its the routers that have a problem with the PS3.
What ive heard from many people is that this DMZ setting will fix the problem.

Although it may disable the broadband talk, but if you assign the dmz to only work with a games console it should let other homehub services bypass and function correctly.

Hi, this is a small step by step guide on how to portforward your ps3, the ports i'm using in this guide is for fifa because i don't
know which ports to forward for gta, but if you know then just change this ports to that.
I've also added illustrations to demonstrate how it should be done Here are the Images:

First of all you need to check if you have set a static ip for your ps3 (manual assigned ip address), if you do then skip this step
1. go to your ps3 menu settings --> Network Settings --> internet connection settings
yes --> custom --> wired connection ---> manual settings ----> auto-detect
manuel ---> then assign the following settings

ip address = 192.168.1.70 (if inuse, use 71 instead)
subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
default router = 192.168.1.254
primary dns = 192.168.1.254
secondary dns = leave it

next MTU = automatic --> proxy server = do not use ---> UPnP = Enable

click on test connection (the first 3 should be on Succeeded, UPnP=Available, Nat Type = Type 2)

2. now open internet browser on your computer and type 192.168.1.254 and hit enter to get into your router (see image1)
click on advance ---> continue to advanced
will ask for username and password, it should be username = admin & password = admin (if not you should contact bt to retrieve your username & password)
click on create a new game or application (see image2)
name = fifa 2008 and select Manual Entry of Port Maps & click on next (see image3)

according to the manual your are surpose to port forward alot of numbers and not all of them are relevant to your problem. or you need to forward are the following ports
UDP 3659 & UDP 6000 and the settings are as follows

UDP 3659 (see image4)
Protocol = UDP ----> Port range = 3659 to 3659 ---> click on Add

UDP 6000 (same settings except the 3659 should be 6000)
when done should look like this (see image5)

3 now click back on application sharing
select Fifa 2008 from the drop down menu of Games & Application (see image6)
select your ps3 from the device menu (i've rename my to PS3 so yours should be ur ps3 mac address and it should be something like this 00-B0-D0-86-BB-F7
click on Add to complete it (see image2) to see if is the same

Then you have done it
